Every repair we do comes with a 3-month repair warranty covering parts and labour on the part we repaired or replaced. This warranty is on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and it doesn't replace them.
How long it lasts
3 months from the day you collect your repaired device.
What's covered
- A fault in a part we fitted, for example a screen, battery or charging port.
- A fault in our workmanship on the repair listed on your work order or receipt.
If an accepted claim is covered, we will fix it free of charge. Depending on the fault, we'll repair it again or replace the faulty part. If we can't fix it, we'll talk you through your options, including your rights to a refund under the Australian Consumer Law.
What's not covered
The warranty doesn't cover a fault caused by:
- new physical damage after you collect your device, such as drops, cracks, bending or pressure
- liquid, moisture or corrosion after you collect your device
- someone other than us opening or repairing the device after our repair
- jailbreaking, unauthorised software or software changes
- a problem with a part or feature that we didn't repair, or a fault that isn't related to our repair.
If a fault isn't covered, we'll explain why and give you a quote before doing any further work. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply.
Good to know before your repair
- Your data: The repair of goods capable of retaining user-generated data may result in loss of the data. Please back up your photos, contacts, messages and apps before you hand your device to us.
- Refurbished parts: Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
- Parts: Unless we agree otherwise, we use quality aftermarket parts. We'll tell you if a genuine or other grade of part is available and what it costs. Some devices may show a "non-genuine part" message after a repair. Our repair may affect any manufacturer's warranty.
- Water resistance: Factory water resistance (for example IP67/IP68) can't be restored once a device has been opened, so we can't promise water resistance after a repair.
- Existing damage and sensitive screens: Before we start, we'll check the device with you and note any existing damage. We'll also explain any extra risks, for example glued-in screens on tablets and some phones. If something goes wrong because of a risk we explained, we'll talk to you about your options. We remain responsible if we didn't take due care and skill.
How to make a claim
- Call or email us, or bring your device to either store within 3 months of collecting it.
- Bring your device and your receipt or work order. If you don't have it, another proof of purchase is fine, such as a bank statement or the phone number the job was booked under.
- We'll check the device. If the fault is covered, we fix it free of charge.
You cover the cost of getting your device to one of our stores. If the fault turns out to be our responsibility under the Australian Consumer Law, we'll pay back your reasonable costs of returning it. Keep your receipts and give them to us with your claim.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
The benefits of this warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under the law. Your consumer guarantee rights can last longer than 3 months.
